Installation
Dimension variable

The motivation of this installation is from various health related problems happening in my life. The illness of family members, friends and myself occurred one by one. The abnormal cells and invasive bacteria gradually proliferate, duplicate and fled, suck out the nutrition of the body inch by inch and spread with the time. There was almost nothing you can do to control the process. Maybe it is a primitive way of biological continuation of survival, but it is also become a way for the host to walk toward death. People facing the illness just like the Earth facing human being and technology, forced the aggression with each other to obtain the continuation of life . For the ecosystem, the huge amount of native species exist in an area usually lack of immunity toward the invasion of outside species. For example, just like the Plague outbreak in Europe during the Middle Ages, the mouse from Middle East carrying the virus and anabasis Europe. The virus infected the human being, the human being then pass it to more human being. The infectious disease therefore exploded and the virus proliferated. This installation primly discuss the powerless of the object which been parasitizing(host)when facing the invasion. Interpret the relationship between the living species(vegetations)and the non-living objects(Cold-cathode Fluorescent Lamp, CCFL). In the sense of another level, this project of creation chose to use the artist's human body as a parasite to anabasis different sites for investigation and creation. Using the local native species as the host and produce a "Tech-Infection" atmosphere in different sites.

In this installation, using a huge amount of vegetations as the material and pierce the stems and leaves with cold hearted material - CCFL. Conducted power through the high water content vascular bundle and fiber to light up the invasive object (see figure) . There are hidden high-voltage amplification chip circuit under the installation can deliver small current of electricity through the vegetations' dense fine root to the distal of every stem and leaves. Using the electrons to hit the lamp to continuing the light. The brightness of the light will be jointly fluctuate with the status of the vegetations. When the host fade and died, the water will be depleted and the light will be dim and gone. The acts of infection come to an end.
