1986 年生於臺灣台中。畢業於臺北藝術大學新媒體藝術研究所和交通大學建築研究所，目前就讀國立臺灣藝術大學美術系當代視覺文化實踐博士班。具有視覺設計、裝置藝術與建築等跨領域背景，在創作中擅長運用光和媒材特性創造空間裝置，探討人與人、人與環境之間的相互關係；同時持續探索跨領域的融合，作品呈現理性與感性並存的藝術美學。
曾獲選至東京 Tokyo Wonder Site 創作駐村，並擔任 2019–2020 年臺中國家歌劇院駐館藝術家。作品曾獲 2013 高雄獎、2015 臺北美術獎，同年入選臺北數位藝術獎，2016 年獲選文化部 Made In Taiwan 新人推薦特區，2019 年獲台北設計獎，並受邀參加釜山市立美術館、台灣美術雙年展、韓國平昌雙年展、東京六本木之夜和 ACC 亞洲文化殿堂等展出。
在跨領域合作中，曾與勤美術館、勤美學、沛納海（Panerai）、賓士（Mercedes-Benz）、銀座資生堂（Shiseido The Store）等品牌合作發表作品，展現多元的創作風格與創新思維。曾獲選為《Taiwan Tatler》Generation T 新銳，以及《Shopping Design》年度創作職人。目前為國立臺北藝術大學新媒體藝術學系兼任講師。
Born in Taichung, Taiwan, in 1986, Chuang Chih-Wei holds an M.S. in Architecture from Chiao Tung University and an MFA in New Media Art from Taipei National University of the Arts, and is currently a doctoral student in the PhD Program in Contemporary Visual Culture and Practice at National Taiwan University of Arts. With his training in fine arts and architecture, Chuang excels in creating interactive installations with light and space that address the relationship between human beings and the environment. Exploring the possibilities of cross-disciplinary methods, with an aesthetic that values both rationality and sensibility, has always been central to his work. Chuang was one of the artists featured in the "Made in Taiwan – Emerging Artists Section" organized by the Ministry of Culture in 2016. He received an Honorable Mention at the Taipei Arts Award and was selected for Digital Art Festival Taipei in 2015; he has also been invited to the PyeongChang Biennale, the Asian Contemporary Art Exhibition (Busan), the Taiwan Biennial (Taichung), Roppongi Art Night (Tokyo), and The Avant/Garde Diaries Taipei by Mercedes-Benz. He currently teaches as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of New Media Art at Taipei National University of the Arts.
